Dean’s is based in Melbourne Australia and works with clients across Australia (from Hobart to Karratha and Cairns to Perth, and many spots in-between) and internationally.
Dean’s business background encompasses a range of practical experience in marketing, advertising, graphic design, copywriting, computing, public relations, communications and creative services.
Dean has worked as a freelance designer and marketer for over 15 years, with extensive hands-on experience in graphic design, copywriting, public relations and desktop publishing. Dean has in-depth knowledge of commercial printing, personalised (variable) printing and print advertising.
This powerful combination of graphic (and web) design and direct response copywriting positions Dean as providing clients with a level of service beyond what many other copywriters are able to fulfill.
Because Dean can see projects through from concept to completion, his extensive experience eliminates the frustration of having to “translate” a copywriter’s ideas into the final product, whether for direct mail, print advertising, or other media. This helps provide clients with maximum return and response.
As well, Dean has more than 18 years of hands-on computer experience, including 13 years of practical internet experience in site building, web usability, email for sales and marketing and, more recently, how business can take advantage of web social networking and technology.
Before establishing his own marketing, copywriting, public relations and design business in 1998, Dean spent six years in political campaigning and public relations, including central involvement in winning a marginal seat election campaign (against the predictions of the metropolitan media).
Marketing experience includes 9 years of local marketing for travel agents (primarily the Harvey World Travel network), as well as working with small businesses involved in real estate development, fitness centres, martial arts (Taekwondo), wind energy, debt collection, Tarot Reading and more.
Dean also is a member of Rotary and was a member of the Harvey World Travel Victoria/Tasmania Marketing Committee (from 12 September 2001 — in between the “September 11” terrorist attacks in the USA and Ansett’s collapse in Australia later that week — until it was wound down in 2008). He has also presented local marketing sessions at Harvey World Travel state conferences, and introduced new Harvey World Travel franchisees to the Harvey World Travel local marketing system.
One of Dean’s proudest achievements is starting to earn money before he was old enough to go to school! But he’ll save that story for another time.
